Rain chances are expected to decrease for Acadiana over the next couple of days allowing for summer heat and humidity to increase commensurately.

Avoyelles Parish remained in a Flood Emergency Thursday afternoon after 25-28"of rain fell last night and today; conditions will be getting hotter area-wide, along with some storms sticking around.

Another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms remains in the forecast for Acadiana into Friday evening, with more active weather this weekend...it'll quiet down next week.

Drier days are ahead for Acadiana over the next week as high pressure takes charge, and will allow for hotter summer temperatures to take hold for a while.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase for Acadiana mid-week with the risk of scattered, primarily daytime showers and storms to stay through the July 4th Weekend.
