Airlines For America, a trade group that represents American Airlines, United and Delta, said the proposal “will drive up ticket prices” and “negatively impact carrier operations.”

Svetlana Dali was returned to the U.S. on Wednesday and has been charged with being a stowaway.

Flight 2668 had 201 passengers onboard, who were evacuated from the plane via emergency slides and taken back to the terminal via ground transportation, according to officials.

A TSA officer smelled alcohol on the pilot and informed law enforcement officials, a source said.

United Airlines said it was cooperating with U.S. and Nigerian investigators to determine what exactly happened on the flight.

Thirty-eight people were injured, six of them hospitalized, after a United Airlines flight from Nigeria to Washington, D.C., experienced problems midair, Nigerian officials said.
