Sunday, a brief period of sleet/mix early for Northeast Alabama, otherwise a cold rain falls throughout the day. High temps around 50 degrees. Rain will continue Sunday night and end very early Monday morning. Temps in the 40s Sunday night and early Monday will drop during the day and by Monday at 5 P.M. temps in the mid-30s. Icy conditions are limited because by the time the colder air arrives and temps drop into the 30s, most of the roads will have had to dry out. Once the temps drop throughout the day Monday, it will remain cold for the rest of the week. High temps only in the 30s, overnight low temps around 20 degrees. Much of next week is dry but keeping an eye on a potential system for the end of the week on Friday. Wintry precipitation is possible, but it is still over a week away.
