EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Our First Alert Weather Days for Extreme Heat will continue through Friday. Afternoon heat index values will soar to 105-110 each day. You should limit or cancel activities once the heat index climbs to 105 and above. The persistent heat will finally start to back off by the weekend.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Day 4 of our punishing heat wave as we Kick off July with triple-digit heat index values. The Extreme Heat Warning continues through Friday with daily highs in the low to mid 90s and heat index readings in the 105-110 range. Anything above 105 is considered dangerous for prolonged exposure or strenuous outdoor activities. Cut activities short, take frequent breaks and double up on drinking water to avoid heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Scattered showers and storms kicked off Wednesday, and more will likely fire through the evening. The weather pattern will become more active as we finish out the work week and head into the weekend. First Alert Weather Days are now in place for Thursday, Friday and Saturday for a few severe storms with damaging winds and possible flooding across the Tri-State. 2-3″ of rainfall is possible between Thursday evening and Saturday night. The Storm Prediction Center has a level 2 of 5 risk for severe storms Thursday. Damaging winds will be the main severe hazard.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -We are on alert for a few severe storms with damaging winds Thursday night through early Friday. The Storm Prediction Center has a level 2/5 risk for the entire Tri-State for mainly a damaging wind threat if storms are able to organize Thursday afternoon and evening. In addition, a Flood Watch continues through Saturday for the entire region. 1-3″ of rainfall is possible over the next three days. With grounds already saturated, lots of the rain will run off and create localized flooding. Several rounds of showers and storms will move across the area through Saturday.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -We are still on alert for more storms with heavy rainfall and flooding for Friday night and Saturday. Conditions will remain favorable for a few stronger storms with damaging winds and hail, but the main concern will be for flash flooding as the storms track over the same areas in multiple waves. The weekend won’t be a washout, but we will have a threat for scattered storms through the day on Saturday and for the first half of Sunday. Total rainfall of 1-2 additional inches possible. The flood watch will continue through late Saturday night.
