A Jackson area man was in custody early Sunday morning, Oct. 20 after he allegedly shot and killed his wife, then exchanged gunfire with law enforcement officers during a long and perilous standoff before he finally surrendered. Kisor made an initial appearance on Monday afternoon, Oct. 21 in Jackson County Municipal Court. Judge Mark Musick ordered a $5-million bond in the case and he remains incarcerated in the Jackson County Correctional Facility.

The Ohio Valley Bank (OVB), located at 27 N College Avenue in Rio Grande, was robbed Thursday morning, Oct. 24. The bank reports that no one was harmed in the incident. The bank will be closed for the remainder of the day. In the meantime, customers are advised to visit the Oak Hill, Jackson or Pike locations.
