OAKLAND — A man remains in custody ineligible for release on bond for allegedly murdering his wife. Nathaniel McCowan, a 49-year-old unemployed Oakland resident, is scheduled to appear for a plea hearing on February 5.
PITTSBURG — Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested one suspect implicated in a shooting at the county fairgrounds in Antioch. At least one more suspect remains at large involving the shooting and a cache of weapons recovered by detectives. An investigation was launched following a shooting last year at the fairgrounds on September 16. Two persons shot at a victim during an argument. Diego Vasquez-Gomez, 27, has been identified as one of the shooting suspects.
OAKLEY— Officers arrested two suspects who fled from Oakley to Hercules in a stolen vehicle. A police pursuit began after an Oakley officer spotted a car with a mismatched license plate. The same plate was reported lost or stolen from a different vehicle, and linked to a recent robbery.
ROHNERT PARK — A driver pursued from Rohnert Park to San Rafael is in custody ineligible for release on bond, pending further review. Casey J. Beck, 36, of Antioch, was arrested by Rohnert Park police with help from three law enforcement agencies.
