A South Russell male, 18, faces charges of theft and underage possession stemming from a 9:42 p.m. Aug. 23 incident. He admitted to stealing a pack of 10 mini bottles of vodka by concealing them in the front pocket of his hoodie while at Drug Mart and admitted to doing the same three other times for a total theft of $51.95. He said he stole the vodka after a football game because his friends asked him to. Police charged him with theft and underage possession of alcoholic beverages.

BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Disturbance, Pilgrim Village: After hearing a driver speeding around the neighborhood for 20 minutes 2:20 a. m.

A man visited the Russell Township police station 1:40 p.m. Aug. 29 to report a call he received indicated it came from the station. The caller told him he failed to appear for jury duty for a federal court case and a subpoena will be issued for him. Recognizing that it was a scam seeking money, the resident hung up on the caller. He was concerned that the caller knew his address and asked for a report to be on file. Police said it is a current scam and residents should immediately hang up and not give out any information.

CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio – Suspicious, West Summit Street: A Chagrin Falls man, 54, received a suspicious email from someone trying to defraud him of money and reported it to police 11:52 a.m.
