The seemingly endless parade of storms continue to march through the Pacific Northwest bringing high elevation snow and lower elevation rain. The temperatures over the weekend will be mild and support mainly rain east of the Cascades. The snow levels will be above 4500 feet (La Pine is 4200 feet) so the wintry mix of rain and snow will occur mainly at night when temps drop below freezing.

The region is drying out slightly with some cold air in place today and tonight. Lows overnight will drop into the teens and single digits while the afternoon highs will only reach the upper 30s. Variably cloudy skies will define the next 24 hours before we return to the off and on wet pattern that we dealt with last week.
An impressive weekend for all the Cascade resorts as the snow would not stop. Three of the resorts are posting triple digit base numbers and all resorts are excited that more is on the way. Bachelor, Timberline and Meadows all have over 100 inches to boast as we close out the year 2024. Plenty of exciting events are scheduled this holiday, so check the resort you want to visit and find out what you need to know. Be very careful to check with the ski patrol reports as there are concerns about tree wells and dangerous areas on the slopes. Have fun and take care.

New Year's Eve will see a good chance for snow and that snow will linger into New Year's Day. The snow totals are expected to be 2 – 4” along the east face of the Cascades and through the mountain passes with higher amounts in pockets near the crest.
Snow is expected to return to the region today and tonight to add to the tremendous snowfall we have had this season. Snow will be likely to fall through the weekend, continuing this great run of snow. Temperatures will be near freezing Thursday and Friday so there may be some rain mingled in with the snow at time at a few resorts. Bottom line is that we are expecting more snow to start the New Year. Please stay safe.

The area is going to be dealing with a series of rain and some high elevation snow for the next three days. The air is expected to be mild enough this week to generate mostly rain during the day and if there is precipitation at night, it will be a mix of rain and snow.

Winter Weather Advisory set to expire at 4 pm, but the area is still going to have to deal with light rain, some snow along with the fog.
Rain and snow is falling on the Cascades with some of the snow base numbers take a bit of a hit as they drop a few inches. There is still over 100 inches of snow at Bachelor, Meadows, and Timberline, so there is still plenty of snow to groom. There should be a bit cooler air arriving Saturday so a bit more snow will arrive above 6000 feet. More snow is expected Sunday and Monday before an area of high pressure moves in and puts a stop to the snow machine for a few days.
