Habitat has announced that its first residents have moved in at Cassidy on Canal, a new 33-story, 343-unit residential tower at 350 N. Canal in the Fulton River District. Developed by Habitat and Diversified Real Estate Capital, LLC, the building was designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz and built by general contractor McHugh Construction.

A core and shell permit has been issued for UChicago Medicine’s free standing cancer center at 5654 S. Drexel. Planned for a site along W. 57th St between S. Drexel Ave and S. Maryland Ave, the 575,000-square-foot facility will provide patients and the community access to the newest diagnostic innovations and leading-edge therapies.

Urbanize recently visited the newly opened mixed-use development at 210 N. Aberdeen. Dubbed Arthur on Aberdeen, the project was developed by LG Group and occupies an irregularly shaped site that reaches to N. May St to the west and down to W. Lake St to the south.

The Community Development Commission has approved $14 million in TIF funding for a mixed-income residential development at 993 N. Larrabee. Planned by Brinshore Development and The Michaels Organization, the project site is located at the southeast corner of W. Oak St and N. Larrabee St.

Sterling Bay presented their plans for a mixed-use development at 345 N. Aberdeen to the local community last night. Currently occupied by a one-story industrial building, the project site is a full-block lot bound by N. Carpenter St to the east, W. Carroll Ave to the south, N. Aberdeen St to the west, and the Metra tracks to the north.

A demolition permit has been issued to clear the way for the new community ceenter for local nonprofit Care for Friends planned at 530 W. Fullerton. Located midblock between N. Geneva Terr and N. Clark St, the $9.2 million project will be built behind the Church of Our Saviour, replacing the existing two-story frame structure.

CRM Properties, the owner of Clybourn Place at 1800 N. Clybourn, is looking to overhaul the mostly vacant shopping center with plans that could include a 500-unit residential tower alongside a series of new retail buildings. Located in Lincoln Park, the property runs along N. Clybourn Ave and N. Sheffield Ave bisected by W. Willow St and bound by N. Marcey St to the west.

A full building permit has been issued for a residential development at 1440 W. Fillmore. Located on a midblock site, the subject property is currently a surface parking lot. Developer Base 3 Real Estate is leading the project.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development planned at 370 N. Carpenter. Planned by Sterling Bay, the site is currently occupied by a one-story structure, with the site bounded by W. Kinzie St to the north, N. Carpenter St to the east, the Metra tracks to the south, and N. Aberdeen St to the west.

A full building permit has been issued for a mixed-use development at 4225 W. Madison. Currently a vacant lot, the project site is located midblock between S. Keeler Ave and S. Kildare Ave.
