SEATTLE—More than 32,000 Boeing workers, Machinists members in Seattle and the Puget Sound region and in Portland, Ore., have the chance to vote on Sept. 12 on a tentative four-year agreement with the big, but financially troubled, airplane manufacturer.

WASHINGTON—In a note of statistical good news for U.S. workers, the Census Bureau reported that last year, median income for all U.S. full-time workers finally surpassed the high it reached just before the coronavirus-caused shutdowns trashed much of the U.S. economy five years ago. It rose 4 percent last year but the inflation rate matched the income increases, also coming in at 4 percent.

PITTSBURGH (PAI)—Prior overwhelming strike authorization plans led bosses at two Pittsburgh-area hospitals to sign historic contracts covering more than 1,100 nurses and support staffers combined, SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania announced.

LOS ANGELES—Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump hates blue states. He said so openly when he jammed his tax cut for corporations and the rich through Congress seven years ago. Blue state residents, even rich ones, were his targets for tax increases.

WASHINGTON—The hate of Haitians and other people of color, spewed by the Republican presidential ticket of Donald Trump and Sen. J.D. “Childless Cat Lady” Vance, is hurting and endangering other innocent people.

SAN FRANCISCO—Should workers beware? Some 88 present and former corporate CEOS signed a letter endorsing Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for president. They say she’d bring stability and promote “a sound business environment,” and that’s good for...well, for them.
