Heartland trustees approved a project labor agreement, advanced a tentative FY27 budget with a projected deficit and awarded contracts for drainage, lighting, building maintenance and prairie work Tuesday in Normal.

Heartland Community College's future Student Center lounge will bear the name of a local bank with a familiar name.

Heartland trustees approved contracts for four senior administrators, renewed property and casualty insurance with an 18.9% premium increase, and approved adjunct faculty promotions across several academic divisions.

Normal will collect only household waste and recycling on Juneteenth. Bulk waste and brush for Friday routes will be collected the following week on the regular collection day.

Heartland Community College has named 1,349 students to its dean’s list for the spring 2026 semester. The list includes 412 full-time students and 937 part-time students.
