Did you know that the state of Michigan has some of the oldest mountains in the world and are in contention for the oldest mountains in North America?

The summer is slowly winding down, with the dog days almost over . Not to wish summer away but fall is on the horizon and approaching quite quickly.

Somehow August is halfway over. This summer is flying by, but there is still a bit of daylight left.

The Dodgers’ four-game winning streak came to a halt in the series opener against the Giants in San Francisco, 5-1. The matchup between Dodger Ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander lived up to its billing, as both pitchers were effective, each pitching seven innings and giving up one run. It was up to the Dodgers’ bullpen to bring home the win, and as has often been the case as of late, the bullpen came up short. Tanner Scott took the mound with one out in the ninth and proceeded to walk two batters before giving up a grand slam walk-off home run to catcher Patrick Bailey.

Deer remain a big problem for Michigan drivers. According to state crash data , deer are involved in tens of thousands of crashes annually.

I made a fool of myself and did things that I found interesting, not for my career, but to try and make the most of my short time at university. I lived “be interesting,” and while there certainly was more I could have done to be interesting, like joining more clubs or studying abroad junior year, I am satisfied with what I did. I have stories I can tell friends and family ad nauseam, and, to me, that is what is important. I can talk to people about my time and hopefully make them laugh — with me or at me, it doesn't matter.
