East Bernstadt Independent winds down successful school year

Pictured from left are Principal Susan Elza, Maggie Broughton, Curtis Storm and Superintendent Vicki Jones. Both Broughton and Storm retired with 28 years of service. A former East Bernstadt student herself, Broughton taught Special Education and was academic team coach for 12 years. She said teaching at her alma mater was an honor, while Elza praised her for her positive attitude and helping all students, not just those in her classrooms. Storm retired on April 30 and was Family Resource Director at Cold Hill Elementary before coming to East Bernstadt District. He taught middle school, drove a bus for 23 years, launched East Bernstadt's archery team, coached numerous teams (Everything but cheerleading), and helped with cleaning and maintenance during summer break.
