Raynham, Mass. – To memorialize the brave bull who did everything in his power to escape slaughter only to be shot and killed near Lake Nippenicket this week, PETA plans to place a billboard in his honor along I-495 urging everyone, “Help Others Escape the Slaughterhouse: Please, Go Vegan.”

Norfolk, Va. – As a bird flu outbreak surges across the U.S.—infecting tens of millions of chickens, turkeys, and wild birds; tens of thousands of cows; and over a dozen humans so far—PETA is hitting cities nationwide with a multipronged campaign urging everyone to save the lives of humans and other animals by going vegan.

Grand Rapids, Mich. – Diners on their way into Forest Lake restaurant on N.W.Fourth Street are in for an earful on Thursday, when “ Hell on Wheels ”—PETA’s life-size, hyperrealistic pig transport truck covered with images of real pigs crammed into crates on their way to slaughter—will bombard them with actual recorded sounds of the animals’ panicked screams along with a subliminal message every 10 seconds suggesting that people go vegan.

Tuscola, Ill. – To memorialize the 20 cows who were killed when the truck carrying them overturned on I-57 about a mile south of the U.S. 36 exit on August 22, PETA plans to place a billboard in their honor near the site, reminding everyone that the crash victims were thinking, feeling individuals. Minutes after the initial wreck, another truck struck a cow who had escaped and was walking across the highway. Most of the other cows who escaped were apparently rounded up, although reports state that a few remaining individuals may still be running free in Douglas County.

Louisville, Ky. – A Hero to Animals Award is on its way from PETA Kids—part of PETA’s youth division—to 7-year-old Naomi Fife, who has volunteered at a local animal shelter since she was 3 and helped her family provide foster care to more than 70 kittens. Naomi says her favorite part of fostering kittens is keeping them warm with cuddles, and her compassion comes from shared experience: She also lived in foster care until she was adopted into the Fife family in 2020.
