ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – We are starting the weekend off on a chilly note with morning temperatures in the low 40s. Conditions will remain fall-like today with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 60s. In addition to widespread sunshine, winds will be light out of the south at 3-8 mph.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Another beautiful day is on tap for SE Minn. and NE Iowa today. Pleasant sunshine will continue with afternoon highs returning to seasonal levels in the mid to upper 70s. Winds will be breezy out of the west at 10-15 mph and gusts near 20 mph.

Our temperature trend changes as we move into the upcoming week, as summer-like warmth settles back into the region. Tonight, conditions will be quiet and mild as overnight lows cool into the upper 50s. A few clouds are expected throughout the night with south winds at 5-15 mph.

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – We are wrapping up the work week with beautiful weather and that means conditions are looking great for Friday Night Lights. Skies will be clear this evening before a few clouds return after midnight. Our game day forecast looks great with temperatures in the 70s at kick-off with temperatures cooling into the 60s by the fourth quarter.

A round of thunderstorms is expected to move through portions of SE Minn. and NE Iowa this afternoon and evening.

There is a chance we could see the northern lights across our region later tonight. Skies will be clear, so as long as the forecast holds up, we will have great viewing conditions to check out the aurora. The Space Weather Prediction Center forecasts favorable KP values of 5-7 for our area. The best time to see the northern lights will be after 10 pm until dawn. We will need to keep an eye on the forecast, but there's a chance we might be able to see the northern light two nights in a row.
