Etsy is a treasure trove of amazing and unique items across all categories. You can search for just about anything on the site, from wedding dresses to vintage jewelry to thoughtful gifts to home decor. On the last front, I find it a great place to source home goods that no one else will really have. Lately, I’ve been on a mid-century modern, window-shopping kick, and I’ve made a lot of fun discoveries (cool lighting, sleek furniture, and impressive artwork, to name a few).

The homeowners of a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Portland, Oregon, had a very strong vision for their kitchen remodel when it came to the layout of the space. They are passionate home cooks, after all. But when it came to the design of the space, they gave their designer Jessica Reynaud and her team plenty of creative freedom.

It was an age-old story: The kitchen in a four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom house in Fremont, California, was spacious enough, but had a terrible layout. “The social flow was halted when there was more than one cook in the kitchen,” explains interior designer Nina Jizhar. “The flow was inconvenient. A separate dining room made it less convenient to serve meals and thus that room was rarely used.”

Set atop a hill in Echo Park in Los Angeles, this two bedroom, one-bathroom home had the most spectacular views, but needed some attention and upgrades. “As the home was on a steep hill, we needed to do new structural retrofitting. A roof replacement and pretty much a full gut remodel on the interiors,” explains Amanda Gunawan of architecture and design firm, Only Way Is Up (OWIU), who oversaw the project with co-founder Joel Gunawan.
