The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education has accepted an offer from Gary Parr of Parr Sound & Lighting to buy the former Central Kitchen for $100,000. The property was appraised at $230,000 when bids were sought with that as a reserve price the district received no bids. Assistant Superintendent John Popp recommended accepting the offer when the board met Wednesday.

First-graders in Kelsey Strickland’s music class sing “The Gobble Song,” a fun diatribe from the turkeys’ perspective, at Wednesday’s Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education meeting, hosted by Eisenhower Elementary.
