Nonprofit Women With Willpower was able to help 32 women in 2023 and 38 in 2024, thanks to $40,000 in American Rescue Plan Act dollars. The organization also hosts events such as the pictured Women and Wine event.

Lake Havasu City Police Department Sgt. Kyle Ridgway said an investigation is still ongoing into a Thursday afternoon accident that left two dead. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on State Route 95 near Dub Campbell Parkway when a black Dodge pickup swerved and hit a semi-truck head-on. The driver and passenger of the Dodge were pronounced deceased at the scene, and the semi-truck driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released. The highway was blocked off at S. McCulloch Boulevard until about 11:45 p.m. Thursday as crews cleared the scene, and police cars were parked in the area Friday morning.

It has been a little over a year since 165.15 acres of land on the Island were auctioned off to a Scottsdale-based company, FalconEye Ventures, for $24 million. The auction included roughly 90 acres of land currently zoned for a golf course and 78 acres of right-of-way. Susan Bittersmith with Technical Solutions — a representative of FalconEye Ventures — said they have been working on preliminary plans for a development at the former Island golf course. Those plans will be submitted to the citysoon, and Bittersmith said they intend to host an open house early this year to share more information.
