A spokesperson sent a statement which read: “When a mail in ballot comes into the Bureau of Elections with a deficiency, the Bureau of Elections notifies the Pennsylvania's SURE system [State Uniformed Registry of Electors] which then notifies voters via email that there is a deficiency in the voter's mail ballot envelope. Live Inside the control room at Three Mile Island Unit 1 (WHP) MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHP) — The CBS 21 Investigates team got a rare opportunity to go inside what will soon be known as the Crane Clean Energy Center (CCEC) on Wednesday, and got the chance to learn more about plans to restart the facility. Constellation closed Three Mile Island Unit One in September 2019 due to economic reasons. "The world has changed since then, over the past five years. There's such a demand for power now," said Dave Marcheskie, the Community Relations Manager for the Crane Clean Energy Center. Microsoft has agreed to purchase the energy that the CCEC will send to the Pennsylvania, Jersey, Maryland or PJM Grid for 20 years. Officials said that agreement, along with the increased demand for electricity will economically support the nuclear plant. Right now we're doing all of the pre-planning work that needs to be done. We're hiring, there's about 200 positions out there right now. Inside the CCEC. officials showed turbines and the main generator for the plant. Constellation said the generator has been tested and some carbon wires needed to be clean, but they said it does not need any parts to be replaced. They said the turbines will also need to be inspected before they start spinning. CBS 21 also got the chance to go inside the control room for the nuclear plant. The room hasn't changed much since the facility opened in the 1970s. Analog controls will once again be used, and some engineers at the plant said they would prefer that. The room is filled with dozens of levers, monitors, and lights to alert people to potential issues. Over the past five years, work has been done to decommission Three Mile Island Unit One. However, Constellation Energy says that work will not have an impact on the restart. "We kind of reverse course of what we did. We need to put oil in the motors, re-energize the plant, get the water back in there, and also put the reactor back together," said Marcheskie. Marcheskie compared this to a long outage. He said there will need to be more than 170 new fuel assemblies that are needed. The company is also the process of getting a license renewal from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission which could take up to three years. Officials said the hardest part will be getting the people ready to operate the facility. It takes 2 years for those folks to get licensed as an operator. Those two years involve going through multiple simulations and written tests. Overall the company says more than 700 people will work at the plant when it is up and running, and officials say no state funds will be needed to bring it back online.">
