Deliberate and intentional growth within Hodgenville and LaRue County is essential to ensuring the local area’s “small town” culture and atmosphere are not compromised with congestion and encroachment. To fulfill this intent, the Land of Lincoln Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a new Comprehensive Plan after a nearly three-hour-long meeting.

Thanks to an unexpected gift from an anonymous family, a little extra holiday cheer can now be found throughout the streets of Hodgenville and LaRue County.

A Safe Haven Baby Box is now available at the LaRue County EMS center, located at 924 S. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville. The Baby Box is a designated safe place that offers a secure and anonymous surrender for any baby under 30 days old. Photo by Victoria Cox

Emergency notification enhancement throughout LaRue County is one step closer to reality with the finalization of placements for new tornado sirens.

The investigation to determine the cause of the contamination of Big Spring in Upton has been ongoing for more than three months, and officials are no closer to identifying the source. The LaRue County Herald News (LCHN) has submitted multiple Open Record Requests throughout the investigation, and recently-received documents paint a more thorough picture of the investigation.

The Hodgenville Police Department’s 2024 Shop with a Cop program was held on Sunday, Dec. 15 at Walmart in Campbellsville. Established in 2015, the program provides clothing, toys and other necessities to local children and families in need during the holiday season. A portion of the 25 kids and their families who shopped are pictured. Personnel with HPD, HPD Cadets, LaRue County EMS, LaRue County 911, Baptist Health Hardin SANE and The LaRue County Herald News assisted with the event.
