Summer heat continues today with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s and peak heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees. Isolated sea breeze thunderstorms (less than 10% chance) may also impact portions of eastern Central Texas late this afternoon into the early evening, but these areas may stay completely dry.

Rain and thunderstorm chances will continue into next week, with the highest coverage expected Tuesday, especially across Central Texas. Locally heavy rainfall may lead to isolated flooding, with a secondary threat for strong storms containing small hail and gusty winds.
