For the first time in over thirty years, Indiana women’s basketball hosted the No. 1 team in the country Saturday afternoon.

Indiana had a couple of victories this week, including one as conference play resumed. Meanwhile, the women fought top-ranked UCLA but ultimately lost.

PHILADELPHIA – The Hoosiers have been searching for a victory like this all season.

There have been countless times in the last few seasons when Indiana has crumbled in pressure situations. Either unable to close out games or give a worthy punch to get back in the contest, road wins have been difficult to attain for the Hoosiers. A similar situation could have unfolded in the second half of Sunday’s game against Penn State. But it didn’t.

Each Big Ten has played at least three conference games after league play resumed last week.

Penn State is one of the better teams in the country so far this season at turning its opponents over. The Nittany Lions are turning opponents over on 23.3 percent of possessions, good for 10th-best nationally.
