Albany PD investigating shooting near Lark Dr and Manning Blvd The Albany Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night in the area of Lark Drive and Manning Boulevard. Officers responded to the scene around 11:25 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Authorities discovered a 17-year-old male at a basketball court with gunshot wounds to his leg, abdomen, and hand. He was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the investigation remains ongoing, and ask to call the Albany Police Detective Division at 518-462-8039 if anyone has information.

Troy Police investigating assault near 4th Street early Sunday morning Troy Police tell NewsChannel 13 that they are investigating an assault that happened in Troy overnight. It happened just after midnight Sunday in the area of 125 4th Street. We are told that an adult male stabbed another adult male during an argument. Police say there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the community, and detectives are actively investigating to identify and locate the suspect. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Dozens of guns were taken off the streets in Watervliet this weekend. The community gun buy-back event was hosted by the Watervliet Police Department and the New York Attorney General's Office. 75 firearms, including 3 assault weapons, 38 handguns, and 31 long guns were turned in. This is the third year Watervliet has participated in the gun buy-back program.

Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, but it can be prevented. That is why an event in Lake George on Sunday is raising money and awareness for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Volunteers will be hiking on Prospect Mountain in an annual event known as Hike for Hope – Cody's Climb. Step-off for the walk was at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The walk will support education, advocacy, and research programs here in the Capital Region. Cody's Climb was started by the parents of Queensbury High School student Cody Miller, who died by suicide in 2007. It was the first event of its kind and now, Hike for Hope events are held across the country.

Hundreds of people were out in Saratoga Springs to remember a young firefighter EMT. A memorial service was held for 17-year-old Anthony Stefanacci. Anthony died by suicide earlier this month. His uncle told us Anthony was full of energy. He was already involved in EMS with Ballston Lake and he was a junior firefighter in Malta Ridge. His uncle says he was a kindhearted and loving kid, who was really passionate about helping people. He says his family is so grateful for all the support from the community.
