Have I lost you already with the title? Some people just aren't tofu people and I definitely fell into that camp when I became a nutritionist. It didn't matter how healthy it could be, I just couldn't wrap my head around this tasteless lump of white jello! But after a few surprisingly amazing restaurant experiences and some sweet-talking from plant-based friends, I kept giving it another shot. And the result? I'm 100 per cent a tofu convert!

Way, waaaaay back, in the less enlightened days, I an ad for Nutrifit ran that said: “What are you wearing on the beach this summer?” It showed a woman paused in thought, standing by a washing line that held everything from the skimpiest of bikinis to a full set of old-fashioned bloomers. It was considered fine at the time (as far as I know) but makes me cringe these days. A woman only (men are body-conscious too?), a woman with a washing line (as if that's her domain) and the implication that you can only wear a bikini if you're in good enough shape. Yikes!

Cup Match is right around the corner so if you like the idea of being healthy on the beach or boat, make sure you read last week's column for a great list of healthy options! I've also got two more ideas for you today – one for the adults and one for the children, although there's no reason why adults and children can't enjoy both.

Ever moved house over Cup Match? Amazingly, we survived thanks to huge amounts of effort and muscle from the Irishman. I also had wonderfully co-operative teenagers, a convoy of cars from friends and the lovely gents at Foxy's Trucking, phew! At 20 weeks pregnant ― surprise ― I was in charge of selling things, logistics and most importantly, the air conditioning remote.

Oh here we go, the first hurricane of the season is upon us! I'm less worried about the actual storm and more upset that I had to postpone Ecopest. After moving house, I thought we'd give the house a quick spray.

Bermuda has been home for me since 2004 and this is the first time ― maybe with the exception of Hurricane Nicole ― that I moved away from the windows and looked for somewhere safer to sleep. We live on the top of a hill and Ernesto was very loud … and long!!

Post Covid round three, life is good! I always love the week after being ill. You have a renewed appreciation for your health and what it's like to move round the house without clutching the tissues. You can breathe through your nose, sweat like a normal person, make it through the day without a nap… AND your appetite is back. Hooray!

Hello September, hello routine and hello lunchboxes. I always feel as if September is like a second “New Year”, a fresh start for everyone. And as much as the kids prefer to be on summer break, I find life a little easier when we are in the swing of a routine. What I don't find easy is lunchboxes. I have a love/hate relationship with them. I love nourishing my kids. But I don't love prepping lunch – especially after a long day of work and then having to do all the usual laundry and other endless household jobs.

I had a somewhat humbling experience this morning when I got stuck between two wing mirrors in the parking lot. I was trying to slip between two cars and underestimated the size of the baby bump. I had to squat instead and wobble through sideways at chest height.
