Tuesday morning I attended a program at the Creston High School called “S.A.V.E Yourself.” Put on by Woodbury County Sheriff Chad Sheehan, the program focused on ways to keep yourself and others safe against an active killer.

It’s a brand new look for Southwestern Spartans cross country — five freshmen making up the team that kicks off the season Friday at Simpson College in Indianola.

CARROLL — Kuemper Catholic, a Class 2A state volleyball qualifier last season, defeated the Panthers 3-0 in Carroll Tuesday.

As the Panthers prepare to host Lewis Central in their home football opener tomorrow, I can’t help but wonder what the mutterings will look like if the game doesn’t go their way.
