It's a good idea to throw on warm layers, grab your sunglasses and give yourself extra time to get where you're going as you get ready to head out the door Tuesday. The cool and wet system that's brought our unsettled weather over the last week is now tracking inland to our north, and will bring the potential for limited scattered showers to our region today. Most showers are expected to stay in our higher elevations, but very limited scattered shower activity will be possible in the valley. The Winter Storm Warning is still set to stay in effect for the west slopes of the Sierra down to 5500' through 4am Wednesday due to the potential for enough snowfall to cause travel impacts through that time. Clouds have been clearing across the valley, but cloudy skies and scattered showers have persisted in our mountain zones overnight. There is a decent chance for rapid patchy fog development in the valley this morning. Temperatures are starting out in the 40's to low 50's in the valley, 30's to mid 40's in the foothills, and 30's in most mountain zones Tuesday morning. Winds will be out of the south to around 10mph today. High temperatures are projected to climb into the mid 50's to low 60's in the valley, upper 30's to low 50's in the foothills, mid 30's to mid 40's in the Sierra, and mid to upper 40's in the Northern Mountains Tuesday afternoon. Skies will clear tonight, and shower chances will fizzle out in the Sierra later tonight.
