Sami Pajari and Marko Salminen won all seven stages on the opening day of Rally Estonia, the ninth round of the FIA World Rally Championship.

Saturday in Estonia was a long day – nine stages and 150km of flat out racing that saw Sami Pajari and Marko Salminen extend their lead over Oliver

The next generation of WRC stars continued to shine in Estonia as Sami Pajari and Marko Salminen claimed their maiden WRC victory having led from the first stage to the last.

Esapekka Lappi crashed out of Rally Finland 800m into stage four. The Hyundai i20N found a ditch and rolled into the forest while holding fifth place overall. The crew are ok.

Sebastien Ogier and his eight-time co-driver champion Julien Ingrassia took command of Rally Finland on the first Friday stage, opening a lead that was never under threat.

Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin had a high-speed roll in SS14 close to the end of the stage. The car ran wide at a tightening left-hander, dug in and rolled several times.

M-Sport Ford WRT was dealt another blow after Mārtiņš Sesks and Renars Francis had a high-speed crash 6.3km into SS14 while holding fifth position overall.

Sebastien Ogier and stand-in co-driver Julien Ingrassia had a high-speed crash on the penultimate stage of the day.

Sami Pajari and Marko Salminen headed a Toyota Gazoo Racing one-two-three after a day of high drama in the Finnish forests.
