CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Tropical Storm Debby and a nearby cold front, will bring a widespread and significant rain to the drought stricken Mid-Atlantic for the late week. First Alert Weather Days for Thursday and Friday as the rain and remnants of this storm impact and move into the region. A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire 29 viewing area. At this time, a widespread two to four inches of rain with locally higher amounts of six or more inches of rainfall expected. Beneficial with the ongoing drought, but will still likely trigger some flooding. Be mindful in you live near small creeks, streams and other low-lying areas, prone to flooding. Remember to never cross flooded roadways!
