Rochester will be in the warm sector of a system that spurred outbreaks of severe weather across the central plains Friday and Saturday. Fortunately for those in WNY, conditions will be much more tame, with just scattered showers for the daytime hours. Sustained winds out of the south and southwest between 10 and 20 miles per hour will gust upwards of 30 mph at times in the afternoon.

April has been wet, there is no doubt about it. Through the first 27 days of the month, over four inches of rain has fallen at the Rochester airport, with more falling on Sunday. Most of the showers on Sunday have been rather light, but they will continue into the early part of the overnight. A complex system is moving eastward, and conditions for much of the week ahead will remain unsettled.

Low pressure through the Ohio Valley extending into the Rochester region has once again reignited a round of light showers for portions of the day on Saturday.
