The Kitchigami Regional Library was before the board this year seeking an increase in funding

The County Board met in one of its rare night meetings Tuesday, Dec. 17, for a public hearing on the budget, levy and capital improvement plan for 2025. Following the hearing, commissioners voted to set the final budget and levy at the 3.99% increase. Once a preliminary levy is set in the fall, it can be reduced but can not be increased.

BAXTER — A property tax levy of $9,300,600 was set for 2025, representing a $403,900 increase or 4.5% more than 2024.
