Il Cervo sits atop the Trade Hotel, directly north of the Fiserv Forum. Now, I know I’ve already written about the fabulous hotel bar in the lobby, but this restaurant lives on its own and very much lives up to the hype.

New restaurant offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine and beautiful outdoor seating? And the best part is that their menu still offers pizzas.

Mequon is ever-changing, but one spot has always been a constant for me, my family and my friends. The Range Line Inn (2635 W. Mequon Road) doesn’t consider itself a supper club, but it could pass for one. It’s described as “A former stagecoach stop built pre-1840, this homey tavern serves classic American dishes.” Either way, it’s one of my all-time favorite spots in the greater Milwaukee area.

I’m not even sure where to begin with describing this incredible restaurant. Room Service is still in its soft opening phase, and it is serving some of the best food I have ever had in Milwaukee. It opened in May and is partnered with the owners of Rice ‘N’ Roll. Reservations aren’t easy to come by; walk-ins are welcome but there’s usually a wait, and it really is worth all the hype.

While in search of a new optometrist, I landed on a new shop in Bayview called Eyes on the Lake. The shop at 2134 S. Kinnickinnic Avenue is noticeably clean and bright with a very welcoming vibe. Dr. Vaugn Schneider was young, friendly and good at her job. After the eye exam, I noticed she went to Indiana University-Bloomington, my alma mater. And so, we got to talking about her new venture into Milwaukee eye care.

Here are some recommendations for a cold beverage on a hot Milwaukee night.

Again, I’m seemingly the last one to another great dining experience in Milwaukee—this time, it’s Cloud Red at 4488 N. Oakland Avenue in Shorewood. For years, I’ve been hearing about this place, knowing a lot of my Bay View friends venture north for dinner whenever they can. Mainly, I’ve heard about their famous Brussels sprouts dish and great cocktails.

Hen’s Deli (209 W. Florida St.) in the heart of Walker’s Point is nestled in the former Soup Brother’s spot.

Their centennial “Birthday Bash Weekend” will combine live music, exclusive beer releases, German wine tastings, and immersive historical tours.
