We have several first warns in place heading into this weekend as the intense heat sets up. A Heat Advisory is in place for most of the area from 1pm today through 8pm on Monday as heat index values will be in the triple digits. The start of the first warn begins Saturday as temperatures are increasing to the mid 90s and the humidity will be high. By Sunday and Monday temperatures will be increasing into the mid to upper 90s with heat index values could be around 110 degrees.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - This morning, we are starting with showers and storms across the radar that are very hit-and-miss, but this doesn’t mean it will be a cooler day. These showers and storms will dissipate as we head into late morning. A few more could fire up this evening because of the high humidity outside. The heat will be ramping up today as temperatures get into the mid-90s with heat index values in the triple digits. A heat advisory is in place for the entire viewing area through Monday at 8 p.m. with cooler temperatures expected!

It will not be a washout, but you will want to bring an umbrella if you are back-to-school shopping or just going out. There is a First Warn in place today, with a 50% chance of showers and storms. I am still expecting a few isolated showers this morning into this evening but most areas will stay dry! Temperatures will remain below average, but this trend doesn’t last long. Please get outside and enjoy it! We will be in the upper 70s and low 80s once again today with most sunshine this afternoon. For most of this week, the pattern remains tranquil with very low chances for showers. The temperatures will be rebounding to average by the end of the work week. Looking ahead from the Climate Predication Center, the pattern turns out for the end of July in August with temperatures in the 90s trying to push triple digits again.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Happy Saturday! High pressure will be dominating the area for the next several days with heat increasing over the weekend. Temperatures return to where we were sitting last week, but the kicker is the humidity will be lower. This will result in lower feels-like temperatures compared to the 115 degrees it felt like last week. It will still be a great weekend for the pool, lake or back-to-school shopping for the kids as temperatures are going to be in the 90s. The UV index will be 8.5 today, so make sure to have sunscreen if you are going to be outside for an extended amount of time.

Showers and storms will continue to move east out of the viewing area throughout the early morning hours before drying out for lunchtime.

Hazy conditions lead to decreased air quality, will improve this afternoon

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Happy Saturday! This morning, we are seeing some patchy fog across the area but it should be gone by mid-morning. There is a slight chance for a few sprinkles on Sunday but these look to stay just to the east of KC. The clouds will be moving out of the area by this afternoon, finally giving us some sunshine! With the sun back out, temperatures will be warmer today and tomorrow with this trend continuing into next week.
