The Apache RTX 300 is TVS’ first-ever adventure motorcycle. It is powered by a brand-new engine, and it comes with some tasty cycle parts as well. We got a first taste of the motorcycle in Shimla, but the route and the time we spent with it weren’t enough to get to know it properly. So, we got one in Mumbai, and after clocking over 1,500km on it, commuting, touring, and sampling all sorts of roads from broken and rippled tarmac to gravel trails and fast, flowing, well-paved switchbacks, we finally have a complete picture of what this 300cc ADV gets right and where it stumbles. Here’s the distilled version.

The Defender Pro is Royal Enfield’s take on protection wear meant primarily for off-road use. And RE is clear to highlight that the Defender is not a jacket, but a base layer. So, you can pair it with an off-roading jersey or an adventure riding jacket, minus the armour, of course. In our case, we have been using it along with a strengthened cotton riding jacket for city commuting and for off-roading jaunts as well. Here is how our experience has been so far.

It took a while, but a couple of months back we finally got hold of Viaterra’s Downtown saddlebags for our long-term Triumph Scrambler 400X. They took their sweet time getting here because Viaterra hadn’t designed suitable saddle stays for the Scrambler. It had one for the Speed, which wasn’t an ideal fit. But now, it has designed one not just for the Scrambler, but also for the Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450, and the KTM Adventure.
