ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The hot and muggy weather will continue until Saturday, with multiple chances for rain and storms during that time. Right now we are Green on the Threat Tracker, but we are keeping our eye on Friday specifically right now as it looks to have the strongest of any storms as a cold front sweeps by and feeds off of the heat and humidity. The main threat with any storms would be wind, but we’ll continue to track the development of this system and will be able to narrow down the timing and strength, so stay tuned in case we issue a Yellow Alert.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Take measures to stay cool today as heat and humidity will combine to create very uncomfortable and possibly dangerous conditions outdoors. We also anticipate thunder activity this afternoon, mainly south of Ridge Road down towards the Finger Lakes. As such, we have issued a Yellow Alert for your Thursday.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After yesterday’s numerous afternoon thunderstorms, we’re back to Green on the Threat Tracker and are in for a much calmer day. A cold front will be moving in from the west later this morning, but due to the timing, conditions won’t be primed for any severe weather. We may still see a weak thunderstorm or just a passing shower late this morning/afternoon, but anything impactful will stay east of our region.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Expect fantastic conditions for today. We start a little cooler than past mornings with temps in the upper 50s/low 60s, but we’ll rise to the low to mid 80s this afternoon. Humidity will be comfortable, and wind gusts will max out at a modest 10-15 MPH out of the west. Overnight temperatures will reach the mid 60s.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We are tracking strong to severe storms that will be moving through the area this afternoon and evening. The main threats are strong, possibly damaging winds, and heavy rain that could cause flooding. We have also extended the Yellow Alert to cover this morning as well, as there will be some on and off showers that could include some thunder through the A.M. hours.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After an “eventful” last few days in the Western New York weather world… We get a nice break from anything impactful this weekend. It will be mainly dry, mostly sunny, cooler than normal (which at this time of year is still mighty comfortable), and a little breezy to start.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Happy Father’s Day, first day of summer, and longest day of the year! The summer solstice officially occurred at 4:24am this morning, as some scattered showers developed over Rt. 104. Those showers have moved out and fizzled out, and the rest of the day will be fantastic. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, light winds, dry dew points, and highs in the mid to upper 70s.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Last week, strong wind storms brought with them two confirmed tornadoes to the Finger Lakes region. Though tornadoes in New York State are uncommon, they are still a very real threat.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We have a Yellow Alert up for today due to rain and a gusty thunderstorm chance. Although no severe weather is expected, this will have an impact on outdoor plans like the Jazz Festival and may lead to some isolated tree damage with the strongest winds. Greatest chance for stronger storms and thus possible wind damage will be near the Finger Lakes. Timing for storms is 2-8pm. Before then however, we’ll still have rain starting around 8am. This will keep us cool and wet, with highs only in the low 70s, falling to the upper 60s this afternoon. Rain should taper off by a few hours after sunset.
