For years I’ve been someone who enthusiastically uses a notebook. Mine consist of recipes, to-do lists and ideas. Looking back at an old one from the mid 90s I found a list of ingredients which I worked out was for a sauce. This was a time in food when “fusion food”, perish the thought now, was de rigueur. The list was curry leaves, ancho chilli, peanuts, tamarind, honey, ginger, star anise, garlic and stock.
