ILSI Europe’s PRODARE framework introduces specific recommendations for designing and reporting human probiotic studies, addressing challenges unique to live microorganisms such as viability, strain identity, and dosage. Developed through expert consensus, the guidelines emphasize clear strain reporting, standardized outcome measures, risk management, and study registration to improve reliability, transparency, and reproducibility in probiotic research. The framework also encourages alignment with international initiatives to strengthen the scientific and regulatory impact of probiotic studies.
