TROPICS: We continue to keep a watchful eye on the S Gulf of Mexico. There's a medium chance we could see development late this weekend or early next week. If anything does develop, it likely moves towards the eastern Gulf next week. Regardless of development, heavy could occur over portions of Mexico this weekend and the Florida Peninsula into next week. It does not pose a foreseeable threat to the central Gulf Coast.
Volume 90% MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — HURRICANE MILTON OVERVIEW: At 7:30PM CDT, Hurricane Milton officially made landfall just south of Sarasota, near Siesta Key as a MAJOR category 3 hurricane.
We're closing in on the weekend Gulf Coast! We'll start Thursday on the chilly side of things with temperatures mainly in the 40s north of the coast. A few inland spots may even wake up to upper 30s! Temperatures will warm steadily during the day and we'll be a little warmer than what we had midweek. Most will reach the upper 60s and low 70s which is about 5-10 below average. Skies will be mostly sunny and while it will be breezy at times, it won't be as gusty compared to Wednesday.
Tuesday night will be cold! We'll see temperatures fall into the 20s inland, near freezing along the I-10 corridor, and areas along the coast will likely see upper 30s and low 40s. Patchy frost will be possible south of I-10. Make sure to protect any sensitive plants, bring in the pets, and protect any exposed pipes.
Our Thursday night will bring mostly cloudy skies, patchy fog, and a slight chance of spotty showers (mainly in the overnight). Lows will range from the low 50s to the low 60s.
