Perch Coffee Opens in Millcreek Millcreek recently welcomed Perch (perchcoffee.com), an Australian-influenced coffee shop that looks to be a hip new addition to the Brickyard area. The menu features collaborations with Idle Hands Roasting Company and Tea Grotto, along with a selection of goodies from local bakeries like Forty-Three Bakery, Blacksmith Ice Cream Co. and Dough Lady. Perch makes all of its flavoring syrups in-house, and offers a unique spin on classic caffeinated bevvies—the affogato and ceremonial matcha seem particularly interesting. Perch’s Aussie influence comes through in its comfy interior and laid-back cafe culture, and its baristas are known for their mean flat white.

Yoko Ramen Announces Closure Yoko Ramen, a popular downtown SLC ramen joint, recently announced that it would be closing its doors at the end of June. The news came via the restaurant’s Instagram page in which the team praised its staff, local farmers and customers for supporting the ramen concept for nearly a decade. The news comes fairly quickly after its sister location Yoko Taco closed down in the Granary District, and it’s a one-two-punch of disappointing news for the local restaurant community. Both Yoko Ramen and Yoko Taco were known for their creative menus and friendly service, and we’ll miss both of them terribly.

Savor the Summit The Park City Restaurant Association will be hosting its annual Savor the Summit event on June 27 at 6 p.m. The event celebrates the city’s renowned dining scene by hosting a one-night roundup of prix fixe options from local restaurants like Purple Sage, Fletcher’s, Courchevel Bistro and Don Gallo. Attendees will also be able to check out the Matilda Sundowner, an Australian-infused cocktail party complete with a raw bar, imported wine and a live DJ along with the High West Spirit Garden which will feature a menu of High West’s signature spirits.
