A new social media marketing campaign launched Tuesday features the comedian as a fan of the fast-casual chain’s new Salad Stuffers.

KFC will begin testing a new concept called Open House later this summer in the Dallas suburb of McKinney. In a recent interview KFC U.S. president Catherine Tan-Gillespie said Open House is a reinvention of the chain, if founder Colonel Sanders was around today. It includes both new items and signature items packaged in a new way, as well as table service, a drive-thru and takeout. It is part of a broader exploration of new concepts, including Saucy which was launched in late 2024, as well as new menu innovations from the company as it attempts a comeback after years of market share declines.

The fast-casual salad concept has long offered wraps. But this new line includes traditional sandwich options on house-baked bread.

Customers are coming back to Cracker Barrel faster than expected following its logo blow-up last year. Same-store sales at the chain fell 2.6% last quarter, and traffic was down 6.7%, both of which were major improvements over the previous quarter. Executives credited better operations and a steady drip of new and returning menu items for the growth. The positive trend prompted Cracker Barrel to raise its revenue forecast for the year. Investors were also impressed, pushing the chain’s stock up more than 26% on Wednesday.

Compass exec Saajid Khan will take the helm of the foodservice management provider later this year. Co-founder Fedele Bauccio will move to an executive chair role.
